I never paint FLOWERS

Last week I prepared 6 sheets of 11 x 15 watercolor paper using mod podge to attach newspaper, teabags and unbleached tissue paper.

This painting was done on a sheet of newspaper and unbleached tissue paper.

I can't think of the last time I painted flowers. So here it is!! I want to thank Scatty over on Wet Canvas who hosted this weekends WDE.

The flowers were on a wedding cake in the reference photo but I used a lot of artistic license to make it mine!

EARTH DAY 2015 and A MANGO TREE POUR

A Mango Tree - ((pour))

The drawing. 11 x 15 on Arches 140lb cold press

The first layer of masking

The first pour and the paint is wet so it looks very dark

Second pour and the paint is dry. Watercolor always dries much lighter

After 2 pours I decided it was enough. I took off the masking. Tomorrow I'll finish the background (the white areas) and do some direct painting to complete this.

And a video will be posted to YouTube....sooooon

Sunny Saturday

It's finally warm enough to have shorts on with all the windows and doors open! Hurry up summer!!

I did this avocado tree painting from a Weekend Drawing Event on Wet Canvas. I know it says Drawing Event but it has morphed into any which way you want to create is just fine.

So this painting looks a little more like 2 avocados and one fat lime. Could it be that on Norfolk Island they have trees like this? Me doubts it................LOL

This is approximately 11 x 8 inches. Painted with Daniel Smith watercolors on 156lb watercolor paper.

A TOMBOW LANDSCAPE - video

A Tombow Landscape - 4 part video

For myself I don't like to sit down and watch a whole YouTube video for an hour. Short is best for me. So I painted this in short segments so as not to bore myself AND you.
Part one is the shortest video with 2, 3 and 4 being almost 20 minutes long.
Don't forget to comment and leave a THUMB UP
