Aurora Borealis

I've always been fascinated by the lights in the Northern Skies. I've seen them and any painting or photo just can't do them justice. But I've tried. Expect more or these from me.
Sides painted black so it's READY TO HANG

6 x 16 acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas

BIRCHES at DAWN

Heavily textured using a palette knife for the entire painting. The trees are painted on slivers of rice paper that were attached when the paint was still wet. Once dry, I used the palette knife again to suggest the bark on the trees. UV varnished and READY TO HANG

10 x 10 gallery wrapped with black painted edges.

Undersea Carousel Horse

This was painted on a recycled painting that had a lot of blues and greens in it already. So when the carousel horse 'appeared' it looks like it's under the sea rather than at an amusement park.

the BEE

This is on the other half of paper that the Cherry Crow was painted on.

A failed painting has become the backdrop for a busy BEE going flower to flower.

Really bad photo but you can see the sketch and see the background I had to work with

This is after about 2 hours of negative painting

And now it's done!!

ENJOY
