TEASELS

I don't think I ever knew what these were called until I painted them. I mean, I'd seen them on the side of the road and in ditches but thought they were just a sort of thistle.

This is not a watercolor pour in the sense that I used the primary colors or multiple pours and layers of masking in between. Nope, I made the sketch, added the masking, waited for it to dry and then I sprayed the paper with water. Added purple, yellow and indigo by brush. I allowed the colors to spread out where they wanted to go. I kept the paper wet the entire process.
