Artist of the Week on Artfinder

I've been on Artfinder since June 3rd, 2015. And I am one of 4 other artists that are THE ARTISTS OF THE WEEK. We're on the home page of Artfinder for buyers to see first.

It's not like being the featured artist BUT that will come!

3 sales inside of a month makes me think this site ROCKS.

Another selling site that I'm on features the same artists month after month, year after year....WHY? oh because they were around since the beginning. Seems rather selfish and stupid to me!

Here - look at this! It makes me happy!

The Swim

This little beauty SOLD today and is off to California to a new home.
I'll miss these fish but I know I can more if I get tooooooooooo lonely!

This is a watercolor pour that went NEON on me so instead of taming the colors I went with it and enhanced them more by adding ink to make those in "The Swim" really POP!

Cities Fall on the 4th

This was created using acrylics on YUPO. 
YUPO is a synthetic non-paper, called polypropylene, and it's 100% recyclable, waterproof and tree-free.
I entertained the idea that if enough fireworks were set off in the USA on the 4th, that cities may fall.

Moulin Rouge - PARIS

One hour of fun on watercolor paper using a Tombow pen to create the contour line drawing, then I added some watercolor paint - ALL DONE with my non-dominant hand - which is right for me.

Maybe now I can paint it BETTER!! LOl

TEASELS

I don't think I ever knew what these were called until I painted them. I mean, I'd seen them on the side of the road and in ditches but thought they were just a sort of thistle.

This is not a watercolor pour in the sense that I used the primary colors or multiple pours and layers of masking in between. Nope, I made the sketch, added the masking, waited for it to dry and then I sprayed the paper with water. Added purple, yellow and indigo by brush. I allowed the colors to spread out where they wanted to go. I kept the paper wet the entire process.

Beach Day

Our little place is right across the road from the beach. It takes me 2 minutes to get there. LOVE IT. It is one of the few redeeming qualities about living in Washington state!

Yesterday was total BEACH DAY for me and my little dog Gracie. I threw sticks for her and she swam in the frigid waters - brave dog. I also took a ton of photos. I even caught a few of those teeny tiny itty bitty little crabs that live under the rocks. I mean, they are less than a half inch across on the shell.

I whipped up a little watercolor sketch of the crab and his rocky home. I think I'll have to make this into a large acrylic at a later date.

So here's to all the tiny crabs that live on my beach - CHEERS!!
