Yup...I missed yesterday because it was time for me to turn 52! I am pretty unsure how getting old and get creative are intertwined BUT they seem to be ((or so I tell myself))
Enough about me for a minute....let's talk about watercolor for while. That and tombow pens. Does anyone even know what a tombow pen is and what it can do?? I often start a painting with a tombow pen. No pencil. Just straight in with ink. The trick? It's so easy to remove a misplaced line. I think it's much easier than trying to erase a pencil mark. A tombow pen is NOT waterproof and for me that is the treat, the delight, the extra special WOW of this tool. A little bit of bleeding of the ink is always fun, especially when you have to deal with watercolor and how it just has a mind of it's own (as well)
I created 2 still life paintings today for the online Facebook group that does only challenges. Still life is almost over. It was a 10 day challenge. The painting below is actually tomorrow's still life. Today's is just not cooperating for it's photo shoot!
And this is a great example of the way I use a tombow pen. This was drawn with a pencil first - not what I usually do, and then I used the tombow over top. The edge around the blue surface was heavily tombowed with the brush end of the pen. That's another great thing about these pens, they have a brush end and a fine point end. Tomorrow I'll show photos and examples of the way I use a tombow.
Goodnight fans.....LMAO - like anyone is reading this!!!
